About this artwork
The man is the first work in the small series "The Family." The top layer is a printed foil. It shows the man from behind, as well as a tree. This is a digital image that I created using overlay techniques and other methods.
The whole thing is mounted on a Gelliplate print. This was designed with acrylic paints.
When superimposed, it looks as if the man is witnessing an explosion (this is, for example, the opinion of one viewer).
In any case,… the multiple layers give the image greater depth.

Nina Florence Juncker is a multidisciplinary artist whose roots lie in her background as a painter, photographer, textile artist, and digital artist. Her techniques and styles are diverse, utilizing various media such as paper, foil, and film, and employing printing techniques, sprays, inkstones, and collage, often in multiple layers and based on photographs or prints she has created. The emotions conveyed by her works are as complex as her techniques—inviting the viewer to look beneath the surface and experience the added value of the hidden layers.
The themes of light and shadow, as well as structure, are also recurring focuses.
Nina Florence Juncker lives and works on the outskirts of Berlin. The city of Berlin, with its many facets, offers numerous motifs that she then artistically interprets.
