About this artwork
Modern American Tribal is a concept Nistka has been developing for many years.
It all began as a way of communicating feelings, emotions, a place in time. The concept of spatiality distilled to its very core. Forms and markings as a language that can transcend idiomatic and cultural differences. As we grew as a human race we became more divided and fractured. We adopted customs and ways of expression that became ambivalent as they became divisive.… We heralded different principles and believes. This is an ongoing series trying to shed a light on the primal nature of painting as it relates to today. The scope is to go back to a way of expression, that is primal, unifying and complete in its simplicity and delivery.
"Arvel" continues the discourse of pieces such as "Tattered" and "Cartas Nocturnas. the palette is a rather more organic reinterpretation of my rather more stark black and white palette.

« I am an interpreter for all that we cannot see but we can feel. »
Nistka's abstract style is derived from a constant reinvention of shapes and a reinterpretation of what seems indeterminate with his subconscious. The Italian artist, who resides in the United States, takes tribalism as a form of departure as he amalgamates the ancient with the present. Organic matter and shapes are the focal point of Nistka's works, as well as ancient symbolism, which he believes expresses the purest form of humanity.
