“MURGA” – the Hindi word for “rooster” – is a humorous yet poetic homage to vitality, pride, and expressiveness. In a dance-like composition, vibrant colors, playful lines, and spontaneous gestures converge. The central avian figure, in intense blue-green and crowned by a red form, seems to straddle the line between fantasy and reality.
Delicate lettering, dynamic brushstrokes, and vibrant accents in orange, red, and yellow lend the work a vibrant… energy. Despite its lightness, "MURGA" radiates a certain dignity and naturalness – as a symbol of creativity, self-confidence, and the joy of existence.
A work full of movement, rhythm and subtle humor – a colorful greeting from my imaginary cosmos.
Nora Kalinda, born in 1976 in Vienna, has her studio in Lackenbach, Mittelburgenland, Austria.
Nora gives artistic expression to her inner worlds on different media, such as paper, canvas, various printing techniques and also digitally. Her paintings, which depict her inner microcosm, are full of various mythical creatures, funny animals and mythical figures. Her works are humorous and colourful, full of lightness, dynamism and joie de vivre. Nora loves it when her pictures inspire people to pareidolia – that is, they stimulate the imagination and help to discover faces in things, giving the viewer a feeling of childlike joy of discovery.
