About this artwork
The work “Lacus” is based on a small oil sketch that the painter made during a hike to Lake Walop in the Bernese Oberland. In the studio, the sketch was enlarged and intensified in color. The color scheme detaches itself freely from the perception of the real mountain world. Here it depends on the expressive gesture.
