About this artwork
The picture shows exactly what you see: a large bird swooping down. A fight may have preceded or still in full swing. The wing in the lower edge of the picture, whose feathers leave disheveled contours, could belong to the enemy. The title “Praecipitare” means “to fall”. The artist painted the dynamics of the scene with the diagonal composition with the extending wing. The play of colors with different shades of blue in the plumage and wings relativizes…
