About this artwork
The picture presents (at least) five landscapes, hence its Latin title “quinque” = five. The composition divides the horizontally narrated motifs, which flow into one another in some areas. The uniform overall effect of the picture is created by the freely moving brushwork. That which shimmers in nature is the subject. Everything is more movement than taming the form. In this way, the work of art logically fits into the Movendo sequence of images.…
The painter is more concerned with the effects of his chosen colors than with realistic outlines. He restricts himself to hints, whereby the seeing eye receives impulses in the reconstruction of the intended reality. - The artist's signature is on the back of the canvas.
