About this artwork
In June 2020, I was commissioned to work on several large paintings for a property developer in Hong Kong. The company was seeking for bright and energetic paintings that would be hung in a busy lobby space in Hong Kong. Those paintings are now complete but will be installed in early 2021.
The painting shown here is a condensed version of the original with fewer colours and lines. I have called the sub-series ‘Metrowire’ — to reflect the various… transport and energy systems that occupy the fabric of the city’s internal and external boundaries.
Each painting, although designed using computer software, is hand-painted, which invites the viewer into its space on a more intimate, macro level.

Norm Yip is an experienced artist with international exposure from Hong Kong.
