About this artwork
This painting is a representation of MIA an artist composer, performer and director.
In 2016, with the clip: Border, MIA put its finger on the migrant crisis in Europe.
The choice to represent her with 12 eyes around her head is a biblical reference to Mary and her crown of 12 stars, but also a reference to the 12 stars of Europe. The symbol that she realizes with these hands and that of unity.
MIA is for NouN an artist that she wants to represent… as an "icon" of our time, through her music and her career, she gives a voice to those who have none.

« "I paint the flowers so that they never die", by Frida Khalo, has become a motivation for my work, a race against time, and the desire to keep a trace. »
NouN is an award-winning French artist whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. The question of identity has often been the anchor point of her works, as well as the concept of the passage of time. NouN's distinctive figurative compositions explore the essence of what we express and tell through our bodies, which is very specific for every person. She creates using acrylics, pencils, felt, and spray paint on canvas or paper.
