This magnificent original sculpture, titled "Muse of Contemplation," is meticulously handcrafted by the celebrated Bulgarian sculptor Ognyan Chitakov. Forged from the timeless beauty of natural gneiss, rich in semi-precious almandine gems (as seen on the close-up photos) this artwork radiates both strength and grace. Its serene form captures the essence of inner reflection, inviting the observer into a moment of profound stillness and thought. Every… curve and detail speaks to the mastery of Chitakov's hand, as he breathes life into stone with a sense of elegance and quiet power that few can achieve. The juxtaposition of the sculpture's solid, grounding limestone base with its delicate, flowing lines evokes a harmony between the physical and the spiritual—a tribute to the contemplative nature of humanity itself. It’s encouraging its viewers to pause, reflect, and find tranquility in the midst of life's chaos.
« Sculpture is my main way of thinking, my method of communication, my way of living... »
Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
