About this artwork

🇬🇧 Entitled "What Happened," this painting from my political collection "Sicilian Flowers Speak" serves as a poignant commentary on the unfolding events. As Russia faces the consequences of its actions, a stark reality emerges. Those who once championed the war effort now find themselves confronted with its harsh realities. The hypocrisy of their earlier bravado is laid bare as they grapple with their own vulnerability. Let us not forget the voices… of those who spoke out against this conflict, nor allow the truth to be overshadowed by the noise of misinformation.

Oksana Evteeva (Oksana Siciliana) lives and works in Sicily. She is the Ambassador of Sicily in Art, a Sicilian artist of Arctic origin whose work blends realism, impressionism, and surrealism, realizing it through her distinctive technique.
She is a Resident Artist of Arseeker Gallery, New York, USA

Evteeva has participated in numerous group exhibitions worldwide, including the Bienal de Arte Barcelona at MEAM – Museu Europeu d'Art Modern, Barcelona, and a group exhibition at the 58th Venice Biennale. She held a solo exhibition at the independent artist space A Cuccagna in Termini Imerese, Italy.

Her artworks are part of private collections across the EU, Brazil, China, and the USA.

She is currently working on Un si ni pò chiù – No More to Give, a surrealist series born from personal crisis and dislocation, while remaining rooted in her Sicilian sensibility. The series blends poetic symbolism with visual tension.
