"Sun", oil on canvas, 48″ x 32″
Light is a very difficult substance to represent graphically. Indeed, in nature, the contrast between the lightest and darkest points of a visible image is many times greater than the contrast between white and black on a sheet of paper or canvas. This is why I play with the correlations between colors and the proportions of light and dark masses. I do not simply paint; I also address the psychology of the viewer,… their visual experience, and conceptual notions.
