About this artwork
It was the first item among semi-abstract landscapes of the series Colors of Earth that I started to work with.
Firstly I was inspired by a photo of a friend of mine, who lives on Bali island. I asked myself, if just three colors and three reqtangulars will be enough for depicting the sky, the sea and a beach? Then, how much colors and shapes are needed for human eye to recognize the sea, to awake the sensation of the sea? So, I tried to convey… the very idea of the sea and wave movement into the personal perception of the sea of the viewer.
That is why I decided to simplify the scenery into geometrycal shapes and flat colors and to use a specific texutures to find the balance between fiction and reality. I hope every viewer will see it's own sea in Blue.
This is a scaled up variation of the first painting that was created in 2017 and had 50x50 cm. This one has 100x100 cm.
