About this artwork
I was inspired by the verse in 1 Corinthians 13:12 of the Bible that compares this life to seeing out of a mirror - only a dim reflection of this world. When Jesus comes back, we will see the world, Him and each other clearly. I drew on the intricate details of the woman’s corset and the ornate mirror to show the beauty of what we hope for - the crisp clarity of the next life. The woman holds the mirror behind her as if to BE the reflection of Jesus…
and heaven.
