About this artwork
In this work, the beluga appears not simply as a fish, but as an ancient spirit of the Caspian Sea — a living relic moving through the noise of a fragmented modern world. The composition combines expressive abstraction, symbolic markings, and raw gestural painting to create the feeling of a disappearing ecosystem suspended between memory and collapse.
Part mythological guardian, part endangered being, the beluga… becomes a metaphor for vanishing cultural and natural archetypes of Central Asia. The painting explores themes of extinction, ecological anxiety, ancestral memory, and transformation through a contemporary neo-expressionist visual language.
Painted with energetic brushwork and intuitive symbolism, the work invites the viewer into an emotional landscape where ancient life forms continue to resist disappearance.
