About this artwork
Ophelia here isn’t being romanticised a huge amount, nor is there a great deal of forsaken love on display. What I see is a combination of peer bullying, group sadistic pleasure. The weeping willow replaced by prodding sticks. Nature no longer providing rest to the dead. The background, is almost completely devoid of any nature at all, excepting for the rather bleak tree trunk. Evoking, in me, a more environmental aspect to the image.
