About this artwork
The image depicts a multi-layered urban composition in which a predominantly blue-gray background is crisscrossed with numerous graffiti elements, tags, and blurred markings. The surface appears deliberately used, worn, and full of traces, like a heavily trafficked city wall.
Various letter fragments and inscriptions float in the upper area, some clearly recognizable, others only suggested. They appear like overlapping pieces of graffiti tags,… as well as a detached name tag made by a machine.
The lower part of the image shows a black and white cityscape of Halle an der Saale with striking historical buildings. The photograph appears slightly distorted and blends into the rugged atmosphere of the background.
