About this artwork
Inspired by Shakespeare’s play, Beneath Arden’s Moon captures a quiet moment suspended between shadow and light. Painted under the spell of a crescent moon, this nocturnal landscape reveals a canyon bathed in deep indigo and violet tones, while the trees in the foreground shimmer in unexpected hues of yellow and green colours that seem to glow against the darkness.
As I worked on this piece, I was drawn to the way night transforms the familiar;… how the moonlight softens edges and deepens contrasts, turning the ordinary into something mysterious and poetic. The title hints at a mythical stillness, a world beneath an enchanted moon where nature seems both ancient and alive. This painting is as much about mood as it is about place; an invitation to pause, look deeper, and feel the quiet pulse of the night.
« My dream is to be recognized as a great Turkish woman artist in history, I spend every moment of my life with this aim. »
