Özlem Thompson is a Turkish-born contemporary artist known for her vivid, dreamlike paintings that combine influences from nature, science, mythology, and abstract modernism. Originally trained in Biology and Botany, she later completed postgraduate studies in exotic plants and industrial design, experiences that continue to shape the organic forms and intricate visual textures found throughout her work. Since moving to London in 2015, Thompson has built an international reputation for expressive large-scale acrylic paintings inspired by Mediterranean landscapes, imagination, and emotional storytelling. Her studio practice is based in Belsize Park, in a historic artists’ building once associated with Piet Mondrian and Ben Nicholson.
Since 2018, Thompson has exhibited extensively across the UK, Europe, and the United States. Her exhibitions include shows in New York, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Paris, Barcelona, and London, with notable appearances at the Swiss Art Expo, ArtExpo Paris.
