of view of faith and from the historical, cultural and folkloristic one. Although it seems that often the dark and brown color was due to the fumes from oil lamps and candles in churches that tended to darken the original colors, we must also keep in mind the tradition that originates from Sacred Scripture (Song of Songs 1, 5 -6): "I am dark but beautiful, O daughters of Jerusalem. Do not look at that I am dark, since the Sun has tanned me.". In this case, the Sun represents the figure of God.

Paola Imposimato is an award-winning painter and draftsman whose works have been extensively exhibited throughout her native Italy, as well as in Austria and France.
