About this artwork
“Listen to the woman when she looks at you, not when she talks to you.”: the writer Khalil Gibran inspired me to create this work of art which represents a portrait of a woman. The saturated and vivid colors of the painting enhance his charismatic gaze, which seems to intimately seduce the viewer also through the symbol of his floral tattoo. In this work of mine I have instilled the intensity of human emotions through the expressive medium of oil.…
Fusing realism and expressionism, I transferred vulnerability and strength onto the canvas, outlined by enveloping nuances and defined contours. Roses symbolize beauty and transience, while vivid colors evoke passion and inner depth. This art will bring a pulsating energy and emotional reflection into your home.

Paola Imposimato is an award-winning painter and draftsman whose works have been extensively exhibited throughout her native Italy, as well as in Austria and France. She defines her artistic style as "contemporary Renaissance", as it has a solid figurative base that is also structured on Greco-Roman art. Imposimato is often inspired by portraiture (of real and imaginary characters), the range of human emotions, poetry, historical re-enactments, the world of music and theater.
