About this artwork
The only eye showing the masked face with the only eye visible in the face in profile, emblem of the King of French playing cards, scrutinizes, questions himself or ideally heads towards an "elsewhere". They also do it through the seal of a fan of cards which partly hides and divides the two mysterious figures, but perhaps largely unites and reveals, as if something wanted to intimate that we are part of a "game" bigger than us. The view of the Baptistery… of San Giovanni, one of the oldest churches in Florence, is dominated by mysterious apparitions. I channeled passions and enigma into the creation of this work, where expressionism meets the metaphysical to explore the surrealism of life. Through intense colors and dreamlike shapes, I reflect on the duality of existence and the intrinsic complexity of human emotions. I invite the viewer on a journey through an alternative reality that stimulates the mind and infuses vibrant energy into every environment.
« 'Beauty will save the world' by Dostoevsky is a symbolic phrase for me because of the therapeutic, magical, and mysterious content inherent in the logic of art. »
