In creating this work, I used acrylics, gesso and gold leaf to explore the subtle beauty of separation and transition. This abstract painting represents a broken horizon, an apparent distance that is a precious thing and this is represented by the gold leaf that illuminates this point symbolizing a glimmer of hope and rebirth.
