"Behind every brushstroke of this work lies a profound exploration of the intense emotions that often envelop and overwhelm us. I wanted to capture precisely that sense of laceration, of how certain sensations can penetrate us and leave a mark, almost like blades.
I tried to visually translate the complexity of these states of mind: the alternating vivid, saturated colors, like purple and orange, emerging from the darker base, symbolize the power… of these passions. The way the colors seem to "tear" and merge, particularly around the figure and on her neck, is meant to evoke the feeling of vulnerability and, at the same time, strength that comes when one is at the mercy of such profound emotions.
It's an invitation to reflect on how our emotions, even the most acute ones, are an integral part of who we are, capable of shaping and defining us.
Born in Salerno, a city kissed by the sun and the sea, I undertook artistic studies with a particular focus on archaeological restoration. Growing up in a family of artists, I had the privilege of being immersed in the artistic environment from a very young age. In 2005, I moved to Assisi, where I had the opportunity to meet the maestro Elvio Marchionni, expert in the art of materials and in the use of ancient plaster techniques. Through the representation of female faces, I try to capture the intensity and complexity of human emotions, transforming internal experiences into vibrant shapes and colors. The color palette I use is imbued with vitality and energy, with a range of colors that evoke intense and vivid emotions. Colors become the language with which to express the nuances of the soul, transforming the canvas into an emotional landscape in constant evolution.
