About this artwork
5 Cubes is a bronze sculpture composed of five numbered cubes, arranged in direct sequence in contact with the base. Paolo Grassi reworks here one of his previous works from 2016, removing the support and thus accentuating the connection with the ground and gravity. The engraved numbers – from 5458 to 5462 – make each cube an autonomous entity and at the same time part of a larger order.
As in all the works of the project From "0" to Infinity,… also in 5 Cubes the numbering is rigorous, unrepeatable, and constitutes the true conceptual plot of the work. The cubes, pure and stable forms, become vehicles of reflection on time, on sequence, on identity.
The work stands out for its visual essentiality and the intensity of its message, and is available in a single copy. Buying it means entering an artistic universe where number and matter blend in perfect balance.

Paolo Grassi is a Swiss conceptual artist, author of the project “From '0' to Infinity”, which since 2007 has explored the language of numbers as an art form.
Each work is a unique and unrepeatable “Element”, part of an infinite narrative made of different materials, techniques and meanings.
The artist considers his research as a “hymn to the energy of numbers and their ability to generate invisible connections between people”.
His works range from sculpture to painting, from performance to installation.
“I seek the balance between order and chaos, between mathematical rationality and creative impulse,” says Grassi, for whom “even a single fragment can contain the entire universe.” Over 285 works already created are now distributed in public and private collections.
Each new creation is an invitation to reflect on time, identity and infinity.
