About this artwork
I wanted to take up this subject that I painted on the spot several years ago. I had left the studio looking for a subject. And suddenly I stopped the truck and settled in very quickly to capture the essential elements for a study brushed on isorel panel in about fifteen minutes it had to be a very small format (10 by 14 cm.) (the study is visible in the photos)
I love this study and in this work I have sought to capture the ephemeral majesty of… the changing skies and the vibrant way they embrace the vast expanses of the earth. Using oil for its rich, textured qualities, I have highlighted the interplay of light and shadow, creating a dialogue between the stormy sky and the vibrant greenery below. This painting is a celebration of nature, offering a sense of renewal and hope through the spectacle of an ever-changing landscape.
« I would like to paint the essence of life, that which generates enthusiasm. »
