About this artwork
I wanted to combine the peaceful and nostalgic image of the beaches of Northern France with the memory of war...
The remains of bunkers, which were an eyesore a few decades ago, have been eroded and toppled by the tides and rising water levels.
The result contributes to a unique image where horror gives way to an unusual postcard...
The anthracite black of the fused concrete and stone contrasts with the light sand, the opalescent sky and sea...…
The seagulls, like doves, accentuate the peaceful effect...

Pascal Macé, self-taught captivated by colors, mainly uses acrylic and various mixed techniques in his works. Favoring the knife and varying the effects of relief, his art mixes the abstract and the contemporary, sometimes on large canvases. His living works, with changing reflections, seek to evoke a powerful communion with nature, particularly water, emanating an atmosphere full of strength and emotion.
