« Painting is like a refuge- a raft that takes you where your mind guides you. Let it wander and only satisfaction and joy will come. »
Swiss painter Pascal Russi underwent several brain surgeries that left him handicapped with many neurological after-effects. He found painting as a way to exteriorize these experiences. Russi purposely avoids falling into a routine with his painting, and his artistic process is thus extremely varied. Lately, he works mainly with acrylics augmented by tar and terracotta. Russi's abstract works feature primary colors, geometric motifs, and elements of collage.
