About this artwork
In crafting this sculpture, I sought to encapsulate wisdom and mystery, characteristics often attributed to the owl. Utilizing copper , I experimented with texture and patina to give life and an ethereal quality to the piece. Each fragment is carefully positioned, contributing to its collective aura of ancient knowledge held within a contemporary form. This artwork exudes an enigmatic presence, inviting viewers to ponder and appreciate the deeper…
connections with nature's timeless spirits. It brings a touch of intrigue and serenity to any space it inhabits.

« My body of work features figurative sculpture representing situations and experiences of the day-to-day. »
Pathmal Yahampath is a young Sri Lankan sculptor who has exhibited his work in Colombo. He seeks for his sculptures to express a certain dignity and majesty, balancing this with explorations of light-hearted postures and the observations of cultural norms. The heavy metal rods welded together resemble the human muscular system, and Yahampath's main materials are iron and copper.
