About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the strength and complexity of the human spirit through the warrior imaginary that women must develop in this modern society. The blend of figurative and surrealism highlights the duality of the inner battles women fight. The vivid colors and symbolic forms invite a deep reflection on courage and confrontation. This painting brings energy and inspiration, a powerful reminder of the fighting spirit and resilience… of these women to whom we owe everything.
Patrice Goubeau, born in France, discovered his artistic vocation at the age of 21 in André Labarde's studio. Trained at the Arts et Métiers and then at the Beaux-Arts, he developed a unique perspective on light and composition. Since the 1980s, his works, marked by the power of chiaroscuro, have been exhibited in the south of France and acclaimed by critics and collectors. Winner of the Grand Prix du Salon des Artistes Français in 1991, he then traveled for ten years across Europe, Asia, and America, enriching his palette and imagination. Based in Canada, he has exhibited in Montreal, New York, and in numerous collections. Inspired by nature, architecture, and his own experiences, he seeks to capture the moment, reveal light, and transform pain into beauty. His style, somewhere between realism and abstraction, invites contemplation and makes him a major artist of his generation.
