Holocene is a depiction of a daily situation, that allows an outside view of what our society looks like. Reminiscing romantic paintings this piece is inspired by the painterly technique of Freud, Richter and Denzler.

The series combines the artists personal memories, hopes and desires with a view on society.
With the release of the newest series: "U", the artist constructs a conceptual mirror, showing… daily situations in large scale contemporary oil paintings on the basis of a multi angled thematic approach. Both the mirror for the viewer & society in general and a more personal aspect including the artists memories, emotions and desires are represented in this series.

Patrick Domo paints large-format figurative and architectural compositions in oil on canvas. Each painting is built in a single continuous session — often twenty-four hours straight, wet-in-wet, before anything dries. The parts he prepares are the bones. The parts he can't control are what make the painting alive.
Born in Bavaria, based in Berlin for several years, now returned. Work held in private collections across Europe, Switzerland, the United States, and Russia.
