In the south of France, there are many walks through the undergrowth, along winding paths and across the arid rocky terrain.
Our walkers seem to need a break as the sun is strong.
This scene was an opportunity to capture this moment and transcribe it onto the canvas that I executed in the studio.

Patrick Marie is an experienced artist based in France whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. Having painted with oils for over fifty years, he was originally inspired by the impressionists. However, Marie's approach is abstract in nature and always starts from a concrete motif. For him, "art is felt" and it is a question of emotion, harmony, elegance, and the heart.
