The best and precisely the most technically perfect paintings, when looking at them closely, are made of colors next to each other and produce their effect at a certain distance. The artist must consider his work with hindsight when he works on it: indeed the most technically successful paintings can be admired from a distance. Up close, the multitude of colored areas juxtaposed and placed in their right place, allow the color to vibrate. Viewed from afar in their entirety, the general forms appear while retaining the finesse of the vibration of the tones.
