About this artwork
The work presents a layered composition — overlapping red rectangles, vertical striated textures — which directly evokes Ligeti's complex polyrhythmic writing.
Warsaw in autumn bears the weight of 20th-century European history. Torn textures, splashes, and overlapping layers evoke the sedimentation of memory—destruction… and reconstruction, violence and resilience. Ligeti, the Hungarian composer who survived the Holocaust, imbued his music with a profound historical awareness without resorting to mere illustration. I operate similarly: my work suggests rather than depicts, creating an atmosphere charged with unresolved tensions.

« My research takes the direction of "parasitic" minimalism. I claim the expression of a rigorous geometric structure endangered by the soft and hazardous trace of the brush. »
