About this artwork
A figurative sculpture with a clean and graphic style, ROSENSTEIN's clown presents a slender character, full of elegance and whimsy. Streamlined silhouette, proud bearing, one hand placed on the chest and the other folded behind the back: the pose exudes a presence that is both theatrical and facetious, almost processional, evoking the stature of a Pierrot or a leader of a procession — between gravity and a wink.
The smooth, minimalist face flows… into a deep drape, crafted entirely from solid bronze with dark, silky reflections. Atop the head, a wide, boldly shaped headpiece, sculpted like a large comma, crowns the silhouette and immediately captures the eye. The unity of material, from hat to feet, lends the piece a dense and precious sculptural presence, reinforced by the green granite base that anchors it with understated elegance.
