This painting has two color schemes running through the painting. Albeit similar they are different. The title “Corona” has many interpretations. Colorful, circle seen around luminous Body such as the sun or moon. It references summertime. Ironically it has references to the coronavirus which has affected all of us. Patrick Schmidt is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Italy. Principally inspired by Op art, he believes that color changes our moods and that colors and patterns alter our identities. Schmidt describes his vivid works as hard-edge color fields with a digital sensibility that explores the language of geometric abstraction.
