This painting is part of a series of hardedge, geometric abstract paintings I started during the pandemic. All the compositions start digitally with a fragment of the older my older work. So in a sense, they are born out of previous paintings. The first, and most prominent feature(s) are color and transparent geometric shape hidden within the work.

Patrick Schmidt is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Italy. Principally inspired by Op art, he believes that color changes our moods and that colors and patterns alter our identities. Schmidt describes his vivid works as hard-edge color fields with a digital sensibility that explores the language of geometric abstraction.
