Ode 2YK is an Ode, but to whom? Hint, the ode is in the circles, a simple elegant geometric shape that has no beginning or end it is infinite. The YK is for Yayoi Kusama. I love her use of color and playfulness. Much of my work since this painting comes out of the circle, and other geometric shapes. Enjoy

Patrick Schmidt is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Italy. Principally inspired by Op art, he believes that color changes our moods and that colors and patterns alter our identities. Schmidt describes his vivid works as hard-edge color fields with a digital sensibility that explores the language of geometric abstraction.
