About this artwork
During the pandemic I began a small series of small minimal paintings where the compositions were based on older works. I uploaded an older image and isolated a small section for the composition. I changed the color to complete the work and make it it’s own.

Patrick Schmidt is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Italy. Principally inspired by Op art, he believes that color changes our moods and that colors and patterns alter our identities. Schmidt describes his vivid works as hard-edge color fields with a digital sensibility that explores the language of geometric abstraction.
