About this artwork
During the pandemic I began working with the minimal compositions. The composition or micro-composition of this painting came from an older work, where I only looked at a 1inch square. I appropriated from my own work to develop this new work.

Patrick Schmidt is an artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo exhibitions nationally and in Italy. Principally inspired by Op art, he believes that color changes our moods and that colors and patterns alter our identities. Schmidt describes his vivid works as hard-edge color fields with a digital sensibility that explores the language of geometric abstraction.
