People can lay hands on us that puts us in pits, prisons, or palaces. Yet, those hands do not define us. The authority of others may limit us or strengthen us. They may delay or accelerate the God given dream we steward for humanity and for his heart. Joseph, in the Older Testament, never gave up on his dreams. So whoever we are, our background, or our history. Whether we are young or old. Whether we have varying abilities, whoever we are, we have… the responsibility to seek out, to come to know the dreams of God's heart for our hearts and for others. That we would be free to see the beauty of life, whether we are in a pit, a prison, or a palace.
Patty Bowman Kingsley is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in painting, photography, sculpture, and visual arts, holding an Honours BFA from OCAD University and pursuing an Interdisciplinary Master of Arts at York University. She masterfully blends portraiture, abstraction, realism, landscapes, and three-dimensional forms, allowing medium and style to serve the conviction and message of her work—often integrating ashes, plants, and found land objects into her pieces. Her art radiates the grace and grit found in life’s brokenness, inviting viewers to discover beauty and hope where ashes once lay.
