About this artwork
“Between the Wrinkles of Time”
In this work, I wanted to capture the body as a place of memory and temporal overlap. The figure emerges between light and shadow, suspended in a moment that seems both present and ancient.
The folds of the sheet on which she lies become a symbol of this plot: like time, they welcome and retain, folding past and present into a single breath.
Through light, gesture, and the figure's posture, I reflect on the destiny… of art: its ability to survive, to leave its mark, to intertwine with the world that hosts it.
Thus the body becomes texture and memory, where time and art silently intertwine.
Paul Andi Bocu, born in Romania and educated at the Liceo di Belle Arti and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, primarily uses painting as his medium. He works in a figurative style that pays homage to tradition and classicism, embracing both technical virtuosity and expressive freedom; his works range across genres, still lifes, mythologies, and landscapes. Through a dialogue between the visible and the invisible, he communicates the power and necessity of beauty as a profound and human value.
