About this artwork
I approached this piece as a study in form and presence rather than literal anatomy. Built through thick impasto, the figure emerges from layered ochres and siennas against shifting greens and blues, creating a sense of structure rising from wilderness.
The giraffe becomes architectural — legs as columns, neck as vertical ascent — functioning as a quiet sentinel within the landscape. Distortion and texture lead the work, allowing physical paint to… carry meaning without over-definition.
