About this artwork
In this piece, I embraced the fleeting beauty of a rainy day, capturing two couples beneath umbrellas looking out at a vibrant, hopeful rainbow over the red cliffs of Bryce Canyon in Utah. With the backs of the couples to us, we do not see the faces of three of the people, but we do capture the profile of one of the girls. The emotion of the scene struck me -- the closeness of the couples made for an intimate moment. The brushstrokes pulse with…
emotion, blending gentle sadness with optimism. And of course, the rainbow in our era can be taken either simply as one of nature's wonders, or as a symbol of sexual diversity in human relationships. The painting brings warmth and reflection to any space, filling it with the timeless dance of light, color, and human presence in nature’s embrace.
