The series Going Bananas was photographed at the beginning of Covid-19 pandemic when the majority of countries in Asia went into lockdown.
At the time, I was printing my new work in Malaysia to exhibit at The Other Art fair in London 2020, when the event was forced to postpone and lockdowns around the world begun.
This full frame image size is 77cm x 77cm and limited to three editions. Unframed is also available.
Any of the images in the set can… be produced to this size on request. To date, this is the only image I have printed this size.
The whole series consists of fifty singles either put into two sets of 25 at 11cm x 11cm each image, sold as singles or sets. The limited editions of 10s are 42cm x 43cm.
Paul Gadd is a British photographer based in Seoul, deeply rooted in classical film photography and darkroom printing, with extensive experience in fashion, portraiture, and documentary work. His technique is hands-on and experimental—scratching and toning negatives, applying mixed-media during hand-printing, and finishing with processes like bleaching or encaustic, making each print a unique original. Through his evocative images, Paul channels his personal experiences and surroundings, conveying a rich tapestry of emotions—from melancholy and anger to humour and love—inviting viewers to deeply connect with his evolving visual narratives.
