About this artwork
Painting portraits of stars: is it a megalomaniacal project or a resurgence of the theme of vanity? The artist would lean towards the second version, because in the end we are a very few things, or at least we are not stars.
No need to shine in the eyes of the other, but rather a fragmented completeness, millions of droplets that only make sense when put together.

« It is necessary to have chaos in oneself to give birth to a dancing star. -Nietzsche »
Paul Picka is a French painter and sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium and Morocco. He describes his art as being introspective, a search for balance, a perception of the totality of the soul, its completeness as much as its emptiness. Picka's spheres evoke the precision of geometry, the engineering of nature and its forms, while also depicting all of its imperfections, and the explosive chaos that precedes creation.
