About this artwork
A new element has been added to these current series of sculptures, namely, the used curved metal rods to interact with the various planes of the sculpture. The yellow element is kinetic and moves with gentle indoor drafts. The sculpture, abstract in its appearance, hints at the persistent interacti0n and engagement of all forms of life.
Edition :1/3 The surface of the main body of the sculpture has a blue//grey auto lacquered finish, with black… stippled textures on the surface. Mounted on a steel base with a high gloss black auto lacquered finish. This is mounted on an oak plinth with a natural finish

« Abstract sculptures tickle the imagination; a viewer may remark, "It reminds me of..." »
Paul Stein is an established South African sculptor who first discovered the magic and power of art as a child, when he was captivated by the photos his father would project onto a screen through Kodachrome slides. Despite the majority of his works carrying an abstract style, he draws heavily on life as we know it, shaping his sculptures to reflect the human spirit and allowing imagination to fill in the rest. His overall body of work is defined by curves and sweeping forms.
