About this artwork
Varanus priscus, is an extinct species. It was a gigantic monitor that lived in Australia. The center of these images is always the process itself: Water (which symbolically represents the unconscious, from which life on the planet emerged) as a form-generating element, poses from its own surface tension an uncertain process that ends up proposing a constant Rorschach test.
The trace of the movement of water on the paper immersed in paint registers… a movement and leaves as a result sinuous channels of abstract shapes with infinite possibilities. So that dance of the paper on the surface of the water is recorded in sinuous spots that are later completed until reaching the level of the figurative image; transforming that abstract and expansive movement into an organic world in which creatures belonging to the animal or imaginary kingdom appear.

Paula Segarra is a painter and draftsman whose art is an introspective refuge. He uses abstract and figurative techniques, creating "accidents" on his canvas that challenge academic reconstruction and drive innovation. Deeply linked to existentialism, it immerses the observer in an ocean of doubts and discoveries, exploring the duality of the human essence and the constant search for transcendence. Their vivid representations combine sensuality and terror, making us face the fragile line that separates life from death and question where our true essence lies.
