About this artwork
In Singapore, lighthouses are known for their heightened security measures. Only military personnel are permitted to land on Pedra Branca where this lighthouse sits, and other vessels are restricted from approaching it. For aesthetic reasons, I have excluded the signal tower and other structures from my depiction. Technically, Pedra Branca is not an island but rather a cluster of substantial rocks situated in the waters, nevertheless, it provides…
a suitable foundation for the lighthouse.
