“Inception Maps”
— A conceptual cartography of the subconscious, drawn from the inner world of the Rhino.
This painting is part of my Inception Maps series, a body of work that visualizes the fragmented memory, instinct, and inner wisdom of a mythical rhino—my symbolic guide and protector. The rhino represents something ancient and grounded: a creature of immense presence that walks quietly but remembers everything.
In this work, I use cellular… patterns, boundary lines, and layered color fields to depict an internal map—an emotional skin—that reflects the rhino's memory. Each cluster is a stored feeling, a past decision, a scar, a moment of stillness. The structure is both chaotic and ordered, just like the psyche.
