About this artwork
‘’Lost in Space’’ depicts a dog-like creature aimlessly drifting through the cosmos, surrounded by a foreboding dark cloud of yellow and blue, perhaps signifying the aftermath of a catastrophic event. This ancient being, 3.5 billion years old, floats in uncertainty, its future unclear—will it survive and find a new place to thrive, or is this the end of its journey?
The creature itself is painted in subtle, almost magical shades of turquoise, blended… in a way that feels both delicate and powerful. Its eyes, reminiscent of a dog’s, are white with accents of yellow and red, reflecting both vulnerability and strength.
This artwork is a metaphor for humanity. Are we not, too, lost in space? Drifting on a path we can’t fully control, unsure of the future... Perhaps, like this ancient being, we are facing the consequences of our actions, and in our destruction of the Earth, we too are being pushed to escape into the unknown. After all, we have lost our connection with nature...
Peer, a self-taught Dutch painter, uses vibrant, colorful mediums to explore humanity’s ancient origins and environmental themes. His dynamic style draws inspiration from the Abiogenis (the fascinating start of of our beautiful planet and the start of life on earth) and the shared connections of life, employing bold, striking colors, strong conceptual and metaphysical and evocative titles that amplify each work’s narrative. He strives to bridge our disconnection from nature and each other, infusing his pieces with a powerful call to reconnect and remember our shared beginnings. After years of successfully working as a CEO in a big strategic communication and design agency in Amsterdam, Peer just starte his career as The New Dutch Painter. He is aiming for international success and soon move form Amsterdam to New York. Click here to watch Peer's trilling movie 'Peer | From Amsterdam to New York': https://youtu.be/6BZpqP_n8eU
